Tamás Berki is an Associate Professor at the Hungarian University of Sports Science. His main research interests include sports motivation, health education, and positive youth development. He obtained his PhD in 2020 from the Doctoral School of Education at the University of Szeged. After earning his doctoral degree, he joined the Juhász Gyula Faculty of Education at the University of Szeged as an senior lecturer. From 2022, for a period of one and a half years, he also worked as a Research Fellow at the Health Technology Assessment and Analysis Centre of Semmelweis University, where he was involved in epidemiological research. Since 2023, he has been working at his current institution, the Department of Physical Education Theory and Methodology at the Hungarian University of Sports Science. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he leads courses in the university’s doctoral school and also supervises doctoral students. His main teaching area is research methodology at different academic levels. Since 2025, he has held the position of Associate Professor. In recent years, he has received the Youth International Conference Grant of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences on several occasions, which enabled him to participate in a number of international scientific conferences. He is a member of the MTA–ELTE Psychomotor Development Research Group, which operates under the public education development programme established by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. In addition, he has contributed to several projects funded by the National Talent Programme and EFOP grants. In 2025, he was awarded the Bolyai János Research Scholarship for a three-year period. He is regularly engaged in international and national publishing activity and has guest editor roles as well.
