Ágnes Zsila is a psychologist, senior lecturer at Pázmány Péter Catholic University, and head of the Media Psychology Research Group. She is also a research fellow at ELTE PPK, Institute of Psychology and member of the Addiction Research Group. She studied psychology at the University of Debrecen, and obtained her PhD degree at the Doctoral School of Psychology at ELTE under the supervision of Prof. Zsolt Demetrovics. Her research focuses on the risk factors and behaviours of Internet use. She investigates the background of aggression and behavioral addictions in relation to online activities. Her research extends to the dynamics of social media and video game use. She also investigates the psychological background of celebrity worship. She has received the New National Excellence Program (ÚNKP) scholarship for five years. She is an editorial board member of BMC Psychology since 2022. She is a member of the United Ethical Review Committee for Research in Psychology (EPKEB) and the secretary of the Institutional Review Board of the Institute of Psychology at PPKE. She has been a member of the public body of MTA since 2021. She has authored more than 50 articles published in scientific journals. Her Hirsch-index is 12, cumulative impact factors: 114.65 IF. She publishes popular science articles on her research findings in the GameStar magazine.
