BIO

Bernadett Modrián-Horváth is a senior lecturer at the Department of German Linguistics at the University of Szeged. She graduated from Eötvös Loránd University, where she also received her PhD (summa cum laude) in 2014. Her dissertation is based on corpus-based research on the information structure of Hungarian and German, funded by the Ányos Jedlik Doctoral Candidate Fellowship. Since 2010, she has worked as a co-researcher on six Hungarian and international projects. From 2017 to 2021, she participated in the project “Deutsch-ungarischer Sprachvergleich: korpustechnologisch, funktional-semantisch und sprachdidaktisch”, where she was co-responsible for the learner corpus being produced within the framework of the project. Her main research interests include passive voice, information structure, and word order in German and Hungarian sentences.
