Her research focuses on the study of the relationship between the metabolism, signalling and hormonal and other signalling molecules (e.g. reactive oxygen species) crosstalk of reactive nitrogen species. Her special research interests lie in the investigation of the abiotic (e.g. drought) and biotic (e.g. fungal infection) stress relieving effects of nanomaterials releasing various reactive nitrogen species. The number of her scientific publications is 155, and has more than 1800 citations. She is a member of the editorial board of Journal of Plant Physiology, Plant Cell Reports, and BMC Plant Biology, and a guest editor of the Journal of Experimental Botany. She defended her Doctor of the Academy dissertation in 2024. She is a member of the MTA Section of Agricultural Sciences (2016–), vice-president of the Hungarian Society of Plant Biology (2006–) and a member of the scientific committee of “Plant NO Club” (2018). She was awarded the Magyary Zoltán Postdoctoral Scholarship (2014–2015), the MTA Bolyai Scholarship (2016–2019), and the National Eötvös Scholarship (2017).
