BIO

Kata Horváti is a senior research fellow at the HUN-REN Research Centre for Natural Sciences, and the head of the MTA–HUN-REN TTK Lendület “Momentum” Peptide-Based Vaccines Research Group, which was established at the end of 2021. She graduated from Eötvös Loránd University, where she majored in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. She continued her doctoral work in the MTA-ELTE Research Group of Peptide Chemistry, during which she also conducted research in Italy (University of Palermo) and South Africa (University of Cape Town). She obtained her PhD degree in 2009, summa cum laude. In addition to national grants (OTKA PD, 2017–2020; MTA Premium Postdoctoral Researcher Programme, 2019–2022), she is also involved in international collaborations (H2020-MSCA-ITN BactiVax, 2019-2024). Besides chemistry, she is interested in singing and world music. She is the mother of two children, Zsuzsi (2011) and Anna (2013).
