Bio

Ágnes Buvár earned her PhD in Communication Science from Corvinus University of Budapest in 2019. Before her academic career, she worked as a market researcher and strategic planner at both international and domestic companies. During her doctoral studies, she spent nine months at The Ohio State University’s Department of Psychology as a Fulbright Visiting Student Researcher. She is currently a research fellow at the Institute of People–Environment Transaction at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE-PPK) and leads the Persuasion and Digital Spaces working group within the Environmental Psychology Research Group. Her main research interests include persuasive communication, consumer psychology, and social media communication. She is a member of the Hungarian Communication Studies Association, the Hungarian Psychological Association, and the Association for Marketing Education and Research. She is currently participating in an OTKA research project and serves as the principal investigator on an international project. In 2024, she was awarded a grant from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) to support researchers raising children. Committed to mentoring the next generation, she is the Scientific Student Conference (TDK) coordinator at her institute, supervises numerous BA and MA theses, and is involved in supervising five doctoral students. She is married and the mother of four children.
