Dávid László Tárnoki, MD, PhD, med. habil., is a radiologist, an associate professor at the Department of Medical Imaging of Semmelweis University, and a department head of the Oncologic Imaging and Invasive Diagnostic Center of the National Institute of Oncology in Budapest. He also holds a qualification as a medical economist and healthcare manager. Together with his twin brother, he is one of the founders and leaders of the research group of the Hungarian Twin Registry at Semmelweis University. His research interest covers the imaging of interstitial lung diseases, radiogenomic studies and the analysis of the genetic and environmental background of various, mainly cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, with the help of twin research. He is the author of 140 internationally listed scientific publications with over 950 citations. He is a member of the editorial board of the Hungarian Radiology and Imaging. He is a member of the board of the Hungarian Medical Association of America (HMAA), a board member of the Ultrasound Section of the Hungarian Society of Radiologists, and a member of the board of the ILD section of the Hungarian Society of Pulmonologists. European Society of Radiologists (2012) and a Bolyai Fellow (2020–2022). His work has been recognized with several awards, including the European Respiratory Society’s Annual Inflammatory Airway Diseases and Clinical Allergy Grant Award (2010), the Artery Society’s Brigitte Laloux Award (2011), the Markusovszky Award of the Hungarian Medical Journal (Orvosi Hetilap) (2011), and the Junior Prima Award (2016). He is married with one child, Eliza Anna (2021).
