3rd edition of Young Researchers’ Forum held in the framework 191st MTA General Assembly (May 2019)
In 2019, the Young Researchers’ Forum is organised for the third time, with a focus on supporting young researchers’ careers in Hungary, and the importance of Hungarian grant schemes and scholarships.

Hungarian Young Academy officially established
A grassroots scholarly society operating in accordance with the public duties of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Hungarian Young Academy (HYA) held its inaugural meeting on 7 May 2019. The aim of the Hungarian Young Academy is to represent the interests of the community of young researchers both in Hungary and abroad, while closely cooperating with the various bodies of the senior Academy and taking part in its scientific activities. Through its own activities, HYA seeks to support the professional development of young researchers and strengthen the relationship between researchers and society.

The tradition of the Young Researchers’ Forum continued: problems affecting young researchers were once again on the table.

1st Young Researchers’ Forum in framework of MTA’s 188th General Assembly (May 2017)
At the first Forum, Gergely Toldi presented the activities of the Global Young Academy and the Young Academy of Europe and announced the intention to set up a Hungarian organisation of a similar kind. After the roundtable discussion, the need to systematically collect the problems affecting young researchers and to propose potential solutions was expressed. Subsequently, in 2018, some participants of the Forum prepared the first large-scale survey in Hungary analysing the situation and difficulties of young researchers under 45.
