The preparation and implementation of the large-scale questionnaire survey took a year, and the first results have now been presented to the public by the scientists leading the research. The research offers a comprehensive overviews of the workplace situation of Hungarian researchers, their job satisfaction, their plans for the future, and their opinions about the Academy.

Following Katalin Karikó’s inspirational talk, FKA member Kata Horváti participated in a discussion with the Nobel Prize laurate researcher at the STEM Talk event organised with young German and Hungarian researchers as part of the Berlin Science Week.

“Upholding integrity in scientific advice – key principles and challenges” was the title of the joint international workshop organised by SAPEA and ALLEA on 4 November 2025 in the Palace of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The HYA Awards Committee has announced the winners of the Fekete Zoltán Young Mentor Award, founded by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences this year at the initiative of the Hungarian Young Academy.

Delegated by the Hungarian Young Academy, Tamás Beke-Somfai, HYA-member and former winner of the Marie Curie Fellowship gave a speech about the importance of mentoring for young researchers.

Members of the Hungarian Young Academy are actively engaged not only in national but also in local initiatives supporting young researchers. A brilliant example of this was the First Young Career Path Seminar, held on 30 September 2025 at the HUN-REN Biological Research Centre in Szeged.

The HYA website has been supporting young researchers with a new function since August to inform them about relevant funding calls.
