BIO

Attila Jámbor is a full professor and Head of Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development at Corvinus University, Budapest. His research topics cover international agri-food trade, agricultural policy and food security. He is the author of more than 160 scientific publications, which have received more than 340 citations. He is the recipient of several awards, including the postdoctoral research fellowship of the New National Excellence Programme, awareded in 2017), the Research Excellence Award of Corvinus University in Budapest, which he won four times, and the János Bolyai Research Fellowship awarded in 2013 for three years. He won a four-year OTKA project in 2016 and a three-year OTKA postdoctoral project in 2011 as a principal investigator. As a young expert, he had the opportunity to work for several international organizations in the field of agricultural policy (FAO, European Parliament, World Bank). He also leads an active professional and public life. He is a regular participant of international conferences organised by the most prestigious societies in the field of agricultural economics. He is a member of the International, European, British, Australian and American agricultural economics associations. Since 2016, he has been the president of the Hungarian Association of Agricultural Economics, and since 2014, he has been a member of the Agricultural Economics Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Since 2018, he has been serving as editor-in-chief of Studies in Agricultural Economics, an international journal published in Hungary. He is married with two children, András (2011) and Lili (2014).
