The Global Young Academy is inviting membership applications by 15 September 2021 from researchers under 40 who have obtained their PhD within 7 years.

The Young Academy of Europe is inviting the application of young researchers – having obtained their PhD less than 12 years ago – in its ranks all year round. Membership is for seven years. Both organisations provide an excellent opportunity for those who would like to be part of an international, multidisciplinary and young scientific body and its diverse activities.

The Hungarian Young Academy (HYA) considers it especially important to ensure that Hungarian researchers are present in international organisations of this kind in as great numbers as possible. Therefore, it would like to support interested applicants in submitting potentially successful applications for membership. With a view to the above, HYA offers the following possibilities:

• answering questions related to the operation of the Global Young Academy and the Young Academy of Europe;
• offering comments on the application material before submission;
• helping to obtain a letter of recommendation if justified.

On 10 August 2021, 10:00 a.m., the Hungarian Young Academy and the AE Budapest Knowledge Hub is holding a virtual forum for those interested, where Gergely Toldi, Global Young Academy alumnus and former member of the election committee, and Katalin Solymosi, Young Academy of Europe Co-Chair for Recruitment are going to present the two organisations and their activities while also answering questions regarding the application procedure.
