We, the members of the Hungarian Young Academy, representing the interests of young researchers, are constantly working to ensure that Hungarian scientific organisations, including the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, stand at the service of science, the nation and universal knowledge through the active involvement of the youth. The first six years of HYA’s existence have clearly demonstrated that the Academy heeds the opinion of early-career researchers, listens to the specific problems they face, responds to criticism voiced by HYA and continuously strives to develop forward-looking solutions tailored to them. We sustain a steady and efficient cooperation in our joint endeavours and initiatives: for example, HYA and MTA work together on national surveys, the inclusion of age-related eligibility extensions in grant schemes, and the reinvigoration and expansion of membership in the public association of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Definitively, we can at all times build on the solid support of the senior Academy and its openness to our initiatives in recognition of the importance of the Hungarian Young Academy and its autonomous operation.
