Conference
After the successful roundtable discussion of the 1st Young Researchers’ Forum held in 2017, the need arose for conducting a survey that would systematically expose the problems affecting young researchers in particular. As a result of that, some participants of the Forum prepared the first large-scale survey in Hungary in the spring of 2018 that analysed the situation and difficulties faced by young researchers under 45, also proposing potential solutions for some of the problems.
At the 2nd Young Researchers’ Forum, Donát Alpár presented the preliminary findings of the survey, while Prof. Mihály Pósfai, ordinary MTA member and chair of the ad-hoc committee set up by László Lovász, MTA President, to study the situation of young researchers, talked about the proposal concerning the statutes of the body to be created under the name “Young People’s Academy”.

The survey attracted significant echo from certain committees of MTA as well as in the media. Among others, István Gulyás interviewed Enikő Kubinyi in the M1 channel’s talk show entitled Ma Este on 13 May 2018, under the title “This is how young researchers see themselves and their situation”.
