Dr. Monika Kozári, expert counsellor and officer of the Doctoral Council offered some simple and practical pieces of advice and written guidance for those applying for the MTA Doctor title, underlining the necessity to gather all relevant information beforehand and to meet all the requirements.
Member of the Academy Prof. László Kiss, who is also a member of the Hungarian Higher Education Accreditation Commission (MAB), talked about the role of the MTA doctoral title in being promoted to the rank of “professor”, and explained the tasks and the criteria applied by MAB in the evaluation of applications for professorhood. Dr. Enikő Kubinyi, HYA member, senior research fellow of ELTE Ethology Department, shared her own experience gained while preparing her own work to apply for the title of MTA Doctor of Science.
After and also during the presentations, participants could ask questions in the Zoom chat platform, which triggered a lot of comments from both the presenters and the co-participants of the Forum. The online event was also attended by the high patron of the Festival of Hungarian Science programme series, MTA Deputy Secretary-General Prof. Anna Erdei. This year’s event was a tremendous success, as indicated by the more than 220 online participants and the lively debate and dialogue outstretching even the planned timeframe of the programme. We truly hope that all the information shared during the Forum will help many young researchers preparing to apply for the MTA doctoral title.
