Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA)

The Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA for short) is a European initiative which seeks to promote the revisiting research assessment and define new directions for it with the involvement of the representatives of the academic ecosystem.

In summer 2023, the HUN-REN Secretariat initiated setting up a Hungarian working group to implement national-level advocacy. The working group gathers representatives from the Hungarian Higher Education Accreditation Committee (MAB), the Hungarian Rectors’ Conference (MRK), the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA), the Hungarian Young Academy (FKA), and certain Hungarian universities.

The Hungarian Young Academy decided to join CoARA in July 2024.
