HYA member invited to talk at Summer Reunion of Colleges for Advanced Studies (NYATA) in Sopron

This year the Summer Reunion of Colleges for Advanced Studies (NYATA) was held in Sopron from August 18 to 22, also featuring a presentation by the Hungarian Young Academy (HYA) in its programme. NYATA is the most important national event for the student communities of such colleges, during which both the academic and corporate sectors have an opportunity to introduce themselves to young talents. In 2025, HYA was represented by HYA member László Koók, whose talk entitled “Young researchers’ career paths – opportunities, challenges, and interdisciplinarity” was delivered on 21 August. László presented the domestic and international scholarships and grant opportunities available to young researchers, and he also talked about the current challenges and inequalities, based on the 2021 HYA survey that scrutinized the situation of young researchers. Significant emphasis was placed on the strategies and goals promoted by HYA that have the potential to create better opportunities for young researchers in the future. The relevance and interest of the topic was confirmed by the numerous questions asked and the constructive suggestions put forth by the audience. On behalf of the Hungarian Young Academy, we would like to thank the organizers for the invitation and we hope to have the opportunity to discuss the situation of young researchers and the key features of research careers again within the framework of the future editions of NYATA.
