On 5 June 2025, the Young Academies Science Advice Structure (YASAS) held its annual general assembly in Bern, Switzerland. HYA was represented by Zsuzsa Bagoly (standing delegate) and András Abonyi (observer) at the event held in a hybrid format. The meeting mainly covered protocol items, including the presentation of the annual report and the renewal of the board. The new president is Noel de Miranda (Leiden University Medical Center), who works in the field of translational oncology. He has been a member of the YASAS board and thus actively involved in its work.

In addition, one of the focuses of the General Assembly was the legal status of YASAS. It was also decided that the next ENYA-YASAS joint meeting would take place in Poland in May 2026, which will provide an excellent opportunity to strengthen cooperation between young academies in Central and Eastern Europe.
