Former HYA co-chair Gábor Kecskés receives Master Teacher Gold Medal

Alumnus and former co-chair of the Hungarian Young Academy, Gábor Kecskés has been awarded the Master Teacher Gold Medal by the National Association for Student Research for his exemplary talent nurturing work spanning more than a decade. Founded in 1197, this award is presented by the National Association for Student Research (OTDT) in recognition of an at least ten-year career in outstanding talent management and National Student Research Conference (OTDK) organizational efforts as mentors and supervisors.

Over the years, Gábor Kecskés has prepared his students for innumerable local and national scientific students’ competitions, law case competitions, and international English-language oral argument competitions, making him a highly deserving laurate of this distinction.

In 2025, a total of 115 professors were nominated for the Master Teacher Gold Medal, 49 of whom have been awarded the recognition. The medals will be presented to the laurates at the official closing ceremony of the 37th National Student Research Conference to be held in November 2025 in the Palace of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

On behalf of all current and alumni members of the Hungarian Young Academy, we warmly congratulate Gábor, our former fellow member for this prestigious award!
