On 27 January 2023, Katalin Solymosi and Gábor Kecskés, the two Co-chairs of the Hungarian Young Academy conducted a lively discussion with Professor Ion Tiginyanu, President of the Moldavian Academy of Sciences and Tudor Braniste, Head of Department for International Relations of the Moldavian Academy of Sciences and President of the recently established Moldavian Young Academy. The Moldavian guests were keen to learn about the Hungarian organisation representing the interests of young researchers, especially its relationship with MTA, its operation, membership election procedure, and its engagement in and contribution to decision-making regarding early-career academics. Katalin Solymosi and Gábor Kecskés underlined the general supportive attitude of MTA and the advantages of being able to rely on a diverse and active membership. Moreover, they drew attention to the importance of networking with international science policy bodies and young researchers’ organisations. The parties also discussed possibilities for further cooperation.
