HYA’s stucture
Since May 2020, HYA membership has been organized into standing committees (working groups). Members are free to join any number of committees at their choice; their membership lasts for a year, and may be renewed. Each member is expected to participate in the work of at least one committee. Each committee is managed by one or two coordinators elected by the members for one year, and their mandate can also be renewed. For the specific duties of the six standing committees, see the respective descriptions below.
Tasks:
- Maintenance, management and editing of HYA website (e.g. data sheets for new members, Hungarian and English website versions) and its official social media platforms (e.g. Facebook page, Wikipedia, Wikidata, LinkedIn page, etc.).
- Collecting, editing and publishing news to be released on HYA website and other official platforms (e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn).
- Promotion of HYA and its permanent programmes; member recruitment.
- Coordination of the communications tasks of HYA committees.

Tasks:
- Commenting on calls for tenders, uncovering possible anomalies, and offering solutions to them.
- Preparing white papers on domestic and international application systems affecting young researchers in the first place.
- Pursuing the initial questionnaire survey assessing the professional working conditions and social status of young researchers, and publication of the results.
- Initiating further small- and large-scale questionnaire- and database-based research with the involvement of social scientists, which may facilitate the work of other HYA committees and external decision-makers (e.g. offering constructive criticism on application opportunities and elaborating a career model).
- Mentoring activities related to applications (e.g. Bolyai mentoring programme). Providing guidance for Hungarian early-career researchers to facilitate their successful tendering through the organization and elaboration of various mentoring programmes/platforms/documents.

Tasks:
- Searching for financial resources that HYA is eligible for, providing information to fundraisers.
- Offering legal advice and assistance to HYA as a civic association.
- Checking the documents necessary for the operation of HYA (e.g. Statutes/Partnership Agreement, Order of Business) for legal compliance, especially with regard to the current General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- Management and review of amendments and motions related to the above documents, and putting them into an appropriate legal format.

Tasks:
- Assessing the situation of female researchers and researchers with small children in different age groups and disciplines.
- Categorizing the problems and difficulties of researchers with small children and female researchers; formulating and publishing constructive proposals for each category.
- Organizing forums and professional programmes for researchers with small children and female researchers.
- Liaising with organizations that support researchers with small children and female researchers.

Tasks:
- Liaising and networking with national (primarily young) academies of other countries.
- Liaising and networking with the umbrella organizations that bring together young researchers (Young Academy of Europe, Global Young Academy) and promoting the representation of HYA within international organizations.
- Consultation activities related to Open Science and Open Data.
- Promoting the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action and organizing information workshops in Hungary.

Tasks:
- Providing up-to-date information on currently available application opportunities for young researchers.
- Liaising with MTA's Secondary School Alumni Programme.
- Organization of regional programmes with universities and MTA's Regional Committees in order to promote and popularize science with the help of young researchers.
- Organization of miscellaneous science promotion programmes and workshops for the youth.
