She has been teaching at ELTE since 2001, at Semmelweis University (Budapest) since 2005, at all levels of education (BSc, MSc and PhD), both in Hungarian and English. She received her Ph.D. in Experimental Plant Biology in 2005 from the E\u00f6tv\u00f6s Lor\u00e1nd University. Her research interests include medicinally important metabolites produced by plastids, natural food colourings, and the effect of different stressors on plastid differentiation, structure and function. She is the author or co-author of 44 peer-reviewed scientific papers, 6 book chapters and 1 university textbook. She is member of the editorial board of Botany Letters and Frontiers in Plant Science, was the secretary of the Photobiology Section of the Hungarian Biophysical Society for 12 years, and was elected to its chair in 2019. Her work was awarded among others by the L\u2019OR\u00c9AL-UNESCO Women in Science Scholarship, and by the Hungarian Biophysical Society and the Hungarian Electron Microscopy Society. She is the winner of the award &#8220;Promising Researcher of ELTE\u201d, and obtained the Bolyai J\u00e1nos Scholarship of HAS. She is devoted to public dissemination of science by papers, Facebook posts, programmes related to Researchers\u2019 Night, Fascination of Plants Day, and various exhibitions of her award-winning microscopic images.
